GTA IV: First Impressions

May 1st, 2008 by Markus Langenfeld

GTA IVSo I’ve had GTA IV in my possession for a couple days now and I’ve only had a few hours after work to sit down and play it. I think even with my limited experience with the game so far, it could be summed up in a couple words – “Holy Damn.”

By now there is a near endless selection of professional reviews around the internet so I’m not going to bother writing about the new features and gameplay. What I will say is GTA IV does live up to the hype, and the rave reviews you have more then likely read by now are spot on. The game is simply amazing.

The attention to detail, breathtaking graphics, deep believable story, and well scripted dialogue is what’s going to make the fourth coming of Grand Theft Auto a must-have for any 360 or PS3 owner.

You play it PS3 or 360? I’ve heard that the anti aliasing on the PS3 version kicks serious tush.

I’m guessing seeing as Markus normally takes his own images, it was for Xbox 360. Xbox 360 is cost-effective, clear enough and has more games, so in my opinion he made the better of the choices.

I am saddened it hasn’t been released directly to PC. I don’t like having to spend an extra $300 for something I already have. ;)

You’d be right with 360. There have been side by side comparisons done and they look nearly identical graphics-wise. The 360 will also have exclusive rights to downloadable missions later this summer.
