Call of Duty 4: Holy Damn.

January 6th, 2008 by Markus Langenfeld

One of the new games I had received for Christmas was Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Until now I haven’t really had a chance to sit down and play the game, not because I didn’t have time but because CoD4 is surprisingly demanding and even after doing some needed upgrades my desktop is still having it’s moments of not quite keeping up.

Just to give an idea, after a performing a couple upgrades to my desktop at home I’m running an Intel Pentium 4 3.06GHz, 3GB of DDR2 (533MHz) RAM, and a nVidia GeForce 8500 GT (Fatal1ty edition) and STILL my Dell XPS M1330 notebook packing a 1.5GHz Core Duo and a GeForce 8400M does a better job of running the game. I have to admit, the performance of these new Santa Rosa chips are amazing…

Anyways, Call of Duty 4 is hands down the most realistic, fun, FPS war-game I have ever played. I’m totally hooked, I literately lose track of time when I’m immersed in battle. It’s not just a good storyline that makes this game shine, the AI is freaking incredible, the graphics are flawless, and the seemingly endless things that you can do and the scenarios you are thrown into, all I can say is wow.

I haven’t actually played any other the other Call of Duty games before, so this is my first time dipping into the series. I’m starting to wonder what I’ve been missing out on…

that game looks intense, I doubt my PC would run it.

Yeh, it requires some serious horsepower!

I’m getting into some difficult battles now to where I’m slamming my mouse around like a maniac.
