My Cat’s Crazy Lifestyle

Morpheus is my cat who was born and raised with our family for about 5 years now. He has been really sick lately. He has a nasty discharge around his eyes and he’s in a lot of pain where it’s hard for him to sit down or even clean himself. My mother took Morpheus to the vet Friday while I was at work and we found out that he has Feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) or otherwise known as Feline AIDS.

His chances of living a full normal life are slim, especially in the condition that he’s in right now but I guess it’s possible. We got some med’s so he can get through his current infection but the road ahead is going to be rough and depressing and there’s a chance that he could infect the other cats in the household.

Morpheus has always been the cat with the crazy lifestyle. He’ll often escape the house to enjoy the nightlife with plenty of fights with other animals and having his way with the lady cats in town. It’s no surprise that he picked up something like this. It’s really sad, Morpheus and I have had some good times together, I’ve gotten so busy that I don’t pay attention to him nearly as much as I used to and now I feel guilty about it.

All I can do now is make the rest of his time as comfortable as possible.
