My thoughts and condolences go out to Minneapolis.
Most of you know that I live in Minnesota, and I frequent the metro area. So for me this is just a huge deal, this bridge is a vital artery for the Twin Cities, I mean this bridge collapsing is like the Brooklyn Bridge in NY suddenly crumbling, its important. 250,000 people travel across the bridge every day and for it to just fall apart like that and all of the engineers to be so baffled as to why it happened… It’s just scary because it’s so random.
I’m just staring at the TV in awe right now; it’s just eerie to see something like this happen so close to home. I used to cross this bridge almost every day when I worked in Minneapolis, I still do travel over it often. In fact this weekend I have to head down to Minneapolis and I’ll have to come up with an alternate route, and I’ll have to use that route for maybe a year or more to come. I’m just 1 person too, all of the countless people and businesses, I don’t know how it will be possible… Traffic will be hell, but everyone involved in today’s tragedy is in a far worse position.
There are so many questions about what happened, why it happened, and how it will affect everything. It’s hard to watch this and just get the same information over and over. It’s hard to refresh the news websites and see the death and injury tolls increase, it’s hard to watch this and not being able to help.
My heart truly goes out to anyone involved, all of the firefighters, police, rescue workers, and civilians who are assisting and saving lives.

We`ve bad a similar incident, on a smaller scale of course, with sections of elevated highways falling apart in Quebec lately too. Curious coincidence?
