A short week with big news.

January 6th, 2007 by Markus Langenfeld

I don’t normally go into great detail about work and such on here. I mean, I often mention that I have a job… Sometimes I have a long day and I get my minor frustrations out on here, and sometimes I rave about work and how well everything is going. But I try not to get into it that much, at least not as much as I used to.

However, overall I’ve been very happy at SCI. I’m doing the work I love, I’m learning so much about emerging technology in the communications industry, and I get to work with said technology every day. I feel that I’m doing the company some good; I help clients, customers, inter-office operations, and the company’s overall goal to grow, expand, and provide quality voice, video, and data services.

I’ve been with my current employer for a while now, and this week I had a review of my performance for the past few months. I knew it was coming soon, but I think it caught me by surprise that it happened this week. I went right out and asked what they thought, and if they see me being a part of the company for a while to come. I was very relieved to find out that it appears they feel the same way I do about how I’ve been doing. I couldn’t be happier about how it went, there are a lot of exciting projects coming up, a lot of work that I cant wait to get started on.

The review came with a generous addition to my monetary compensation, which will allow my current transportation situation to be more easily resolved. In other words, I’ll be getting a brand new car soon, I’m sick of car problems… I find it interesting that they mentioned that at the review too, it shows that they genuinely care about how I’m doing even outside of work. That means a lot…

Anyway, I think when it comes to my career, I feel safe saying that I’m at the official start of the rest of my life.

That is some awesome news. It’s always nice to know your employer likes what you do and wants to keep you around!
