A Breakthrough
I went over some of the details of my Minibellum project last month. Basically it’s the Apple Mac Mini I’m turning into a Samba file server to replace the ageing Cerebellum.
I’ve been wanting to configure Hamachi for the box since the beginning of the project, but due to the extremely vague documentation on the GUI-less version of Hamachi for OSX, and lack of installation instructions anywhere else on the internet I was unable to start that part of the project.
That is until I found this little gem tonight, HamachiX is a front end GUI for the OS X Hamachi, it even does a 1-click install of the original console side Hamachi client, so its just as easy to use as the PC version. Actually, the GUI for HamachiX is nicer then the original PC counterpart in my opinion, it gives just tons of options and configuration took just a couple minutes. When used with Hornware: SharePoints and PureFTPd Manager it becomes a extremely secure, unstoppable, remote sharing and administration solution.
If your looking into an extremely easy to use VPN solution for OS X, I would take a look at HamachiX.
