If you visit this site often, or any of the websites hosted with RackFirm, you may have noticed an alarming amount of downtime lately. It seems that the new hosting I have chosen just a few months ago isn’t going to work out as I had hoped. Outside of the unacceptable downtime, there has been a good amount of other unrelated issues that I don’t have the time, patience, or resources to deal with right now.

I’ve decided to move onto bigger and better things, and those things are all offered from a hosting provider by the name of MediaTemple. If you’re into the design and/or development scene at all, you have likely heard of the company. They are currently one of the largest hosting providers on the planet and I have the pleasure of paying them hard earned cash in exchange of blazing fast, super reliable, amazing-support-backed, web hosting services.

It’s currently 2:24AM CST and I have moved most of the site over to the new server. The SQL backup worked like a charm this time thanks to some help from Dr. Courtney, overall the process was as smooth as it could get.

After I’m done writing this post I will download and move the remaining data and then transfer the DNS settings to (mt), in just a few short hours you should be able to see this post. However, I believe by the time you figure out the last sentence, it will already be working for you.
