These past couple weeks…

October 12th, 2006 by Markus Langenfeld

I haven’t been around in a while so I’m sure I’ll come up with plenty to talk about.

First off you will notice a brand new design, if you have been checking out the site the last few days you may have seen a total of 3 concepts pop up. I’ve been playing around with some ideas I had and decided to go with this one. I didn’t want to go with another solid color layout but at the same time I didn’t want to do anything too unoriginal so I came up with the angleish, half solid, half expandable boxes thing you see here.

Other then the 14 or so hours I took to make the new layout I haven’t had a lot of time to write up anything or do much outside of working. Last weekend I had a wedding to attend AND I was on call for work. The two combined ate up my weekend and it seems like I haven’t had a real day off in a while. Everyone must be getting married this month because I was supposed to attend another wedding this weekend but it sounds like those plans have changed, and I’ll actually get to spend my time more efficiently, like sleeping and playing video games.

My workload and responsibilities have definitely picked up when it comes to occupational life. I spend most of the day trying to keep up with everything; I’m just swamped with work now. However I’m not complaining, it makes the time fly by and the work I’m doing is definitely interesting. Actually it seems everything has slowed down to a steady pace now that were well into the month, which is nice.

I woke up this morning to find a healthy dusting of snow on the ground. The infamous Minnesota Fall season has officially arrived. Unfortunately we don’t have a gradual change in seasons; a real storybook ‘Fall’ season doesn’t actually exist up here. It was in the 70’s just a few days ago, right now outside the office its 23F and snowing…

Alright well, I suppose I’ll get back to what I was doing here, I’ll try to keep this place more up to date.

Yep, very tidy. To get your work life that way, too I recommend checking out GTD. Basically saved my (career) life.
