TorPark: Anonymous browsing on a USB drive
Posted by Markus Langenfeld - 01/29/06 at 11:01:47 pmFrom digg.com article -
If you’re serious about online privacy, you probably already anonymize your browsing sessions at home, but what about when you sit down at an Internet cafe or public terminal where your decidedly non-anonymous use could be tracked back to you? The solution, of course, is to take your privacy with you, and that’s what TorPark is for
I actually just learned about the TOR project from Security Now so I have yet to check it out. However this looks like it would be a really cool solution for secure communication on the go.
Bam, Back to work.
Posted by Markus Langenfeld - 01/28/06 at 03:01:06 pmEveryone knows about Bam Margera and his show Viva La Bam. After evaluating a couple episodes of the show last night I thought I would ramble off my opinion, which is the point of this website yes?
It’s mildly entertaining, and funny I give it that. However at the same time there’s something about it that gets on my nerves. I don’t know what it is and I may not understand because I have a job and I don’t live at home with my parents with the addition of like 6 of my friends in a house that is so insistently trashed. But I do know that television shows like these have become models for society.
What I’m saying is people will follow every detail like zombies and it does reflect. It’s surprising to me to see how many people out there that would rather be a menace to society then be productive citizens. I’m picking on Bam because he’s the perfect example.
I’ve ranted about this before and people will come back and say “Well Bam is a professional skateboarder, that’s what he does.” No, Bam may be considered a professional skateboarder but he’s nothing special. This is coming from a fan of the sport, with high respects to true athletes like Danny Way and Kareem Campbell.
Bam was just somehow picked up by the mass populace and proclaimed as the best skater ever, yet all he ever brags about on his show is his drop in technique. Try dropping in from a helicopter a few hundred feet off the earth like Danny, then you will be something special.
In the meantime I think Bam could think about not being such a show off with his little cape he runs around in looking like a moron and maybe get a job or a purpose in life rather then infecting our nation’s youth with worthlessness.
Sunday Bloody Sunday
Posted by Markus Langenfeld - 01/25/06 at 03:01:52 pmWell It’s Sunday as far as my weekend goes anyway, which would make Monday and Tuesday both Saturdays, Something like that. I’m not seeing much happening in the coming week or so, I’m still looking for a new job. If there happens to be any high-up’s from an I.T. firm based out of East Central or North Metro Minnesota reading this, check out my resume Here.
Other then that it’s pretty much business as usual. I did get a chance to upload a few new pictures in various places on the gallery so if you’re interested you can visit the photo gallery by clicking Here. and yeah…
Stroh’s Brewery
Posted by Markus Langenfeld - 01/22/06 at 03:01:26 pmThere’s a security contract I regular at called Stroh’s Brewery. It’s an abandoned set of buildings that was once a leading brewery in the Midwest. Since then it has been beaten, striped, and one of the buildings was burned down by a crack head last summer. Hence the reason our firm is there. I took some pictures last fall of the West side of the complex; I plan to take pictures of the East side soon. I recently uploaded the West side pictures to my gallery, they can be found Here. Like I said more will be added soon. Also check out some pictures I took last night of my newly re-arranged home office Here.
Near Death Experience…
Posted by Markus Langenfeld - 01/19/06 at 03:01:35 pmWell maybe not near death, in fact I’m not sure how life threatening it was but.. It definitely made my night. I’ll explain what I’m babbling about, Last night I got into a bit of an accident on the freeway. My front passenger tire exploded and I momentarily lost control of the van.
After coming to a stop I evaluated the damage and ended up having Sprint’s Roadside Rescue help me get the thing going again. Not that I couldn’t change a flat tire myself but other problems seemed to arise later in the process. The van was serviced in the shop today and I’m happy to announce that its up and running and ready to speed down the freeway once again.
The sad part is what ticks me off most about this happening is one of my brand new hub caps was destroyed.

Microsoft Disputes WMF Claim by Steve Gibson

The company says the function in question exists due to legacy code, not some nefarious intent.
For those of you out of the loop on this one check out the last 2 episodes of Security Now. In the last episode Steve claims the recently discovered security hole in Microsoft Windows was put there on purpose. It seems Microsoft has come up with some plausible deniability, I’m still with Steve on this one.
Don’t plan on having time off next week
Posted by Markus Langenfeld - 01/13/06 at 08:01:39 pmThat’s what my boss tells me today, it looks like this could be my last day off for a while. If you can even call it a day off… I’m switching from night shifts to day shifts so I spent most of the day sleeping. I may be MIA next week due to a new contract. I’m not complaining though, I haven’t been getting a lot of hours lately so I need the money. I need to buy stuff. Pointless stuff.
I was looking at the traffic graphs for my site today, since I fixed the spam issue I feel I can get an accurate reading now and I’m impressed. It always fascinates me that there are people out there who actually read this thing on a daily basis. At the same time it bums me out because I used to blog on a more personal level, not just post articles and random musings all week… I’m starting to turn into the mass populace of bloggers. In the coming weeks I’m going to try adding a ton of my photos to the gallery and maybe I’ll make time to sit down and talk about each series since I skimp on the gallery descriptions. But for now I’m going to spend my limited amount of time I have tonight on something more productive, like watching television.
