Man buys his own stolen camera on eBay.

From digg.com article -
A German businessman whose camera was stolen was relieved to find the same model for sale on eBay. When it arrived after he bought it however, he discovered it was his OWN, stolen camera!

I couldn’t help from laughing about this one. This is a good example of how much stolen crap is actually sold on ebay. They need to come up with a better way to police online auctions, like they do with pawn shops…

Spam problems may be fixed.

Just to give a quick update on the comment spam. I have turned the free for all comments back on, and to kill the spam I set up a very strict content filter. Be careful what you post. I don’t get a lot of comments but the real feedback I do get I really enjoy. And I didn’t want to throw that away.

Comment System Changes

I decided to turn the comment system off to public feedback becuase the comment spam has actually gotten out of hand on certain topics. This hasnt been a problem for me in the past so its a new issue to deal with, I may leave the comment option off or I may come up with an Anti-spam solution. We will see what happens.

Christmas in Review.

I had a great Christmas this year; I’m going to admit it now that I’m a spoiled young man. The time and money my family spends on everyone including myself is really something. We all have to understand that Christmas isn’t about getting presents, but to me a large part of it is the whole gift thing. To see the look on my moms face when she opened up her new set top DVD recorder was really cool. A few people have asked me to post the gifts that I received this year, I made out like a fat rat so the list is extensive.

- XACT Visor SIRIUS Satellite Radio
- Tiger iDog
- 1st Gen. Robosapian Gold Edition
- The Art of Deception - Kevin Mitnick
- The Art of Intrusion - Kevin Mitnick
- Logitech USB Microphone
- NEC 16X DVD Burner
- External 5.25 USB 2.0 / Firewire drive case

Hello from…

Orius Telecommunications Services Inc., a new contract that was picked up over the weekend. In other words I’m sittin’ at work and don’t have a whole lot to do. Over the last few days I’ve been keeping fairly busy with work but I did manage to upload some more photos in my gallery. The rest of the week it looks like I’m booked solid, tomorrow I’ll be going on a ride along with my friend in the MPD. So check back soon for pictures from that.

Spending more time, not working.

It seems this will be yet another week where I will be killed on hours. If this keeps up I won’t be able to make my bills. On a good note I do have plenty of time to work on other projects. Today I finished a new photography gallery, if you have been checking the ‘photography’ link often you would see that I started by using a IPB install, I thought using a forum system I have a lot of experience with would make a good venue for showing off my work but I decided to scrap it because it just didn’t have that photo gallery feel. I decided to use ‘Gallery‘, an open source system that uses MySQL and such just like a bulletin board. So far it seems to be working really well, the interface I’m using is nice and clean, it doesn’t match the main site very well but I like how it’s turning out. As of right now the Photography link will launch the gallery, it isn’t close to being done, I have over 1000 photos I want to put online, and there may be a few tweaks here and there, but feel free to check it out. Click Here to launch the Photography Gallery

Photography Overhaul

If you visit the gallery you may notice all of the photos have gone away. That is because I’m doing an overhaul on how I display my photo work. I’ve decided since the collection has gotten so large, I will now try to select the best of my photography and cut out most of the fluff. Also I will be moving my collection to a new home. Check back for updates on this ambitious project.

Tiger Direct - Stay Away !

So I’m working on a project to build a $ 1,200 Computer for a family member and I decided to order the whole 9 yards from Tiger Direct. I’m talking a new 19″ LCD monitor, all in one printer, new speaker system and a computer that’s going to scream.

But it seems just about every little thing that could go wrong with the order has. First off they advertise that if you order that day, it will be shipped that day. Wrong, if you order that way, manifest a sixth sense that you have to call them and confirm the order (because they don’t bother telling you) it might be shipped the next day. $118.00 was paid for 2 day shipping and its going to take 6 days for me to get the first of many boxes. Then, I find out today that over half of the order went on backorder. That’s funny because when I ordered it I don’t remember seeing anything that said out of stock, nor did it say out of stock after it was ordered. It took them 2 days to advise me of the stocking problem. Then the next day all of a sudden they were wrong, most of the items were in fact in stock but it took them a day to figure it out, so that means most of the parts, which were ordered for 2 day shipping, will take 7 days to arrive.

Then I get another notice today saying that in fact the only item that’s truly on backorder and will not be in by Christmas will be the video card. So I had to look around on the website for another video card with equal or less price. I found one with the same specs but it’s made by a company I’ve never heard of. The video card also had 2 day shipping, which in theory is going to take 8 days to arrive. If all of that wasn’t bad enough, to make all of this happen I was on hold for at least 3 hours combined throughout the last few days I cant imagine them being that busy so my only guess is this place is ran out of some dude’s garage. I always thought Tiger Direct seemed like a great company, until I made a large order from them and found out they don’t know what their doing. Check back for a link to my bad review I’ll make on Reseller Ratings!
