Man beams down 5000 channels from 12 dishes on his home

From digg.com article -
Al Jessup of Beckley adjusts one of his 12 satellite dishes Saturday at his home on James Street. All 12 dishes are in working order receiving 5,000-plus radio and television stations and Jessup plans to buy his 13th soon.

I’ve thought about getting a CBAN dish so I could watch tv channels from other countries. But this is insane. I think this guy has lost it.

Mass Call of Duty 2 Server Strike Planned

From digg.com article -
In an effort to gain developers attention regarding the lack of anticheat support in Call of Duty 2, a mass server strike, whereby Call of Duty 2 servers will be renamed to “on strike” and locked, or simply shutdown. This event is set to take place on December 16th and seems to be gaining mass server admin support.

I don’t normally digg gaming news but this cought my attention. Anti-cheat solutions are a must these days, I’m suprised such little effort has been put into a big game like CoD2. Hopefully this gets some attention.

Thanksgiving and project updates…

Today was another great day off. Although I have to work later tonight… I thought I would write something up quick. Thanksgiving went well; I ate ’till the thought of food made me sick. I ended up going to my grandma’s and pigging out on turkey and ‘corn stuff’ as I call it. Yesterday was Black Friday, I woke up at 3:00am to go shopping. We hit Wal-Mart and Menard’s right away and then I made the commute to the cities to hit Best Buy, Office Depot and others. I didn’t like being up so early but overall I had a lot of fun, I got a lot of Christmas shopping done with little money. It was pretty crazy though, there we’re people waiting in lines since 12:00am for Wal-Mart’s $ 380.00 laptop, which didn’t even have that great of specs, I suppose it would make a good gift for kids and such.

As far as project updates go, I’m working on something new. It’s a Podcast that could be launched by the end of December and it’s going to be called Evocast. The Podcast will be my own; I’ll likely have guest co hosts coming on often. The name ‘Evocast’ was derived from ‘Evolution of Technology.’ I think you can guess what kind of content the Podcast will feature. I’m not rushing to work on the project, I’m not sure how well it’s going to go over but I thought I would announce that the planning and preparation is in progress. I’ll post more news about the project as I get it, along with previews of certain content and such.

Hot Chicken.

I’m starting to run out of things to talk about on here because it seems nothing new ever happens. However these next few days I plan on doing something to break the monotony, and that’s getting some R&R. So far it looks like I’ll get the next 3 days off. I had to fight for it but this will be the first 3 day block I’ve had in a long time. This should be nice because Thanksgiving is on Thursday and then Friday morning I plan on doing some shopping. I’m not going to write about what I’ll be purchasing because certain people happen to read my weblog but let’s just say I’m getting some cool stuff at a hell of a price.

On another note it seems the overall traffic on my site has actually picked up, this is nice to see however I would like to see more feedback on my ramblings. The comment system is currently set up so you don’t have to enter any personal information if you don’t want to, this isn’t good for the ‘comment spam’ but it’s convenient for the readers.

A few people have asked about my personal opinions on the whole Sony CD root kit fiscal that has been going down. Personally I’m sick of hearing about it, all of the Podcasts and such have been talking about for the last month and I’ll be glad when it’s over with. I think what Sony did was a bad move, they screwed up, and their initial response to the problem was poor. Recently it seems they have figured out ways to at least try to make it up to the end user by recalling CD’s and offering refunds.

There you have it; I somehow managed to manifest another semi content filled post. I feel bad posting all of those digg articles without my own ramblings. I don’t want my weblog to end up like just about every other digg member’s blogs with nothing but digg articles.
If you don’t know what the hell I’m talking about visit http://digg.com and click any article and then click on one of the members name’s who posted the article on their blog.

360 Burns CDs and DVDs, Says Best Buy

From digg.com article -
It looks like their ad wizards are now either leaking info or just making crap up.

If the the new XBOX 360 had features like this Microsoft would be advertising them for months. I’m interested to see if this is picked up and a big deal is made out of it.

It seems over the last 5 years or so it has become a tradition of mine to go shopping on Black Friday, otherwise known as the day after thanksgiving. Normally the wait outside the department stores will last for hours just to get some good deals or a freebie like a snow globe. It seems like the stores aren’t doing the door gifts much anymore but the deals just keep getting better. This digg is a well organized list pulled from bf2005.com of all the great deals that are going down on the 25th.

Mom Makes Teen Stand on Street With Sign

From digg.com article -
A mother makes her teen stand at a busy Oklahoma City intersection with a cardboard sign that read: “I don’t do my homework and I act up in school, so my parents are preparing me for my future. Will work for food.”

I’m going to start doing some slight editing to my featured dugg articles from now on. Then visitors are fully aware the above is a dicription from an article found on http://digg.com and is not my writing. The editing will include the above “From digg.com article -” title at the top along with my personal openion below, this editing should allow me to stray away from all of the other blogs I’m seeing that only feature content from digg.com making them utterly useless.
