Down with the Sickness

After going to the emergency room at 5 am Saturday morning I knew my weekend was off to a hell of a start. I found out all of the extreme pain I was going through in the last week was caused by a really bad case of Tonsillitis. Often seen as worse then strep throat Tonsillitis not only affects the throat and tonsils, but everything around them. It can cause ear infections, jaw problems, gum swelling, sore muscles all of which I got the chance to experience this weekend. After 4 shots in the ass and some testing I was released to go home, I have to take a total of 8 pills (12 pills if the pain is real bad) a day if I have any hopes to make this crap go away. The doctor said if I don’t feel better within 36 hours I should come back to the emergency room immediately.. That’s how bad it was. I was hoping that wouldn’t be the case especially because it seemed like some of the swelling and such got worse after taking the medication.. But as of Sunday afternoon I started feeling a lot better, some of the swelling went down and a lot of the pain went away. After having a few days off I get to return to work today so we will see how this all pans out.

Between work and the internet being down…

It seems like I’m never around anymore. Genesis Wireless is by far the worst ISP I’ve ever experienced. It’s so bad that I get their services free via a neighbor’s open access point and I’m still griping about it. If I were a paying customer I would be burning down their office right now. They have maybe 40% uptime, the internet is down at least 4 days out of the week, every week. If it even looks like its going to rain, it will cease to work. But like tonight, with a storm and all, it will take them at least 3 days to fix it. I’ve seen it down for more then a week in the past. So if you live in East Central MN and your looking for a high speed solution, stay away from Genesis.. Times like these make me want Dial-up again.

Other then typing this post in MS Word and Posting it whenever the internet decides to turn back on… The last few days have been alright. I finally had a few minutes off today so I decided to go into Cambridge and get an oil change. My $ 20.00 oil change turned into $ 51.00 due to up selling. Sometimes I’ll be a sucker like that. I may have the day off tomarrow, if so I’ll venture off to a place with internet and sit there all day.. but for now I’m going to find something else to do.

I have an urgent announcement to make!

I got my new Laptop! I decided to buy a new notebook computer from a local friend of mine after I finally sold my old one. Actually I’m posting from the new notebook now… It’s a Dell Inspiron 5100 with an Intel Pentium 4 2.4Ghz Processor, with 512 MB of DDR ram and a 40GB HDD. It has the CDRW/DVD, USB 2.0, Firewire and all that other Jazz.. It came with an extra battery and it’s still under Dell’s complete care warranty. I got a real good deal on the notebook and so far I’m real happy with it. I took a few pictures this morning, they can be found Here.
